Amanda Snyder, RN, COO, Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine Associates
How long have you been a member of NERVES?
I have been a member of NERVES for 1 and a half years.
How long have you been in your current role and what past jobs/experiences led up to this?
I have been in this role (COO) for 6 short months, but I’ve been with CNSA for 16 ½ years. I started as an RN, became our nurse manager and decided I wanted to broaden my scope and managed one of our satellite offices before returning back to our main office in 2014 as Director of Operations.
What is the size of your department at your place of work?
We currently have 48 physicians (neurosurgeons, physiatry and 1 neurologist). Counting all providers (PT, APP) we have over 100.
What is your favorite part of the job?
I learn something new every day! In Operations, no day is the same, but the challenge of solving anything that comes my way has kept me engaged. I love to hear patient success stories of how our providers have changed their lives.
Tell us about what you’ve struggled with or had success with during COVID this year.
COVID has continued to “keep me on my toes”. As soon as I have one issue resolved another one pops up. It’s shown me the resiliency of our team despite the frequent changes.
Has NERVES helped you with the struggles or successes?
NERVES has been a valuable resource of information to help guide our practice and to expand my network of those that are in the trenches.
Tell us someting about yourself.
My husband Bryan and I will celebrate 20 years of marriage this year. We have two kids, Caroline 15 and Kyle 12. When I’m not providing a taxi service to my kids sports practices and activities I like to travel to tropical destinations.
